hides two beautiful national parks: Torres del Paine National Park
(Chile) and Los Glaciares National Park (Argentina). Throughout this
roundtrip we invite you to unveil all the wonders of this natural
reserve on foot. Paine Towers, Mount Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, Perito
Moreno Glacier, etc... All these famous places welcome you. This is
a unique opportunity for you to enjoy Patagonia's most beautiful places
and observe its abundant fauna: guanacos, ñandues, foxes, condors,
etc. We circle the solid walls of granite with their covered peaks,
a challenge to a dozens of daring climbers every year. A journey for
sportiest who enjoys trekking, camping and photo hunting lovers. |

| DAY 1 PUNTA
ARENAS - PUERTO NATALES |
| Reception
at Punta Arenas airport. Transfer to Puerto Natales visiting the Otway
Sound Penguin colonies. Arrival to Puerto Natales, transfer to the
hotel. (L) |
| DAY 2 PUERTO
NATALES - LAGUNA AZUL CAMP |
| Transfer
to Torres del Paine National park. The park, created in 1959 and declared
by UNESCO Humanities Patrimony, is a paradise for nature lovers, the
fauna, flora and landscapes are just fabulous! We can watch one of
the largest gatherings of Condors of all South America, beautiful
lakes and impressive rocky peaks. We visit the headquarters of the
Park (CONAF) and set our camp in Laguna Azul. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 3 LAGUNA
AZUL - DICKSON LAKE & REFUGE |
| First
long trekking day. We head north up the Paine river. Great landscapes
where we will take time to watch and learn about the fauna and flora.
We circle the cordillera north wise and we reach the great lake
Dickson where we overnight in the Dickson Refuge. (B,L,D)
Note: From day 3 to day 7 we don't have any support during trekking,
people have to carry the own backpacker with personal gear: clothes,
sleeping bag and pad, day lunches from camp/refuge to camp/refuge.
The guide distributes the community food with clients. We use camp
or refuge, either depending on size of group. Tents are provided
from camp to camp. Please select your personal gear before to leave
Puerto Natales for trekking, in order to carry no more than 15 kg.

| DAY 4 DICKSON
LAKE - LOS PERROS CAMP (4h) |
| Long walk
up, along the Perros river. We camp near the river. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 5 LOS
PERROS - PASO GADNER (1241m) - GREY GLACIER & REFUGE (8 to 10h) |
| We keep
going on the most impressive part of our trek. Walk down the moraines
at the foot of the Grey glacier, and the fascinating granite peaks.
We cross the John Gadner pass and get a spectacular view on the tremendous
ice mass of the Continental Ice Fields (Hielos Continentales). Descent
on a trail that borders the Grey glacier. Grey Refuge or camp close
to the eternal ice. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 6 GREY
GLACIER-PEHOE LAKE (5h) |
| We border
the Grey lake take the leisure to fill our minds with the landscape
and atmosphere with a superb view on the Paine Grande peak and the
lake Grey. We set our next camp on the shores of the beautiful lake
Pehoe. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 7 PEHOE
LAKE - FRENCH VALLEY - CUERNOS REFUGE (8h) |
| Long walk
to the French Valley and to the foot of Mount Fortaleza with its incredible
granite towers, amongst the greatest on earth. The Paine Grande reaches
3.248m, and still fascinates whole generations of climbers. We trek
to Cuernos Refuge where we spend the night. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 8 CUERNOS
REFUGE - LAS TORRES CAMP (4h) |
| Trekking
along Lake Nordenskjoeld to reach camping Torres, where we spend the
night. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 9 LAS
TORRES CAMP - BASE LAS TORRES (8h) - PUERTO NATALES |
| Full day
hike ascending to the foot of the Torres del Paine, granite pinnacles
of more than 1000m high. There is a beautiful lake on the tower's
feet. Back to camping Torres and transfer to Puerto Natales. Overnight

| DAY 10 PUERTO
NATALES - CALAFATE (ARGENTINA)* |
Long drive
to Calafate (Argentina). We leave Chile and cross the Argentinean
pampa to Calafate.
Excursion to Perito Moreno Glacier. Walk to the view point of the
great Perito Moreno glacier. Huge blocks of ice fall down into the
icy waters of the lake. Return to Calafate. Overnight in the Hotel.

| DAY 11 CALAFATE

| Transfer
to El Chalten. We reach the park and relax. Overnight in the Hotel.

12 EL CHALTEN - FITZ ROY - LAKE CAPRI (6h) |
| Transportation
of the common equipment to Lake Capri where we stay for 2 nights.
Trek to the Torre Lagoon. We walk in a virgin forest. In front of
us rises the impressive Cerro Torre with its clear water lake. Trek
back to Capri where we set our camp. From our camp we have a complete
view of the Fitz Roy. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 13 LAKE
CAPRI - LAKE TORRE - LAKE CAPRI (4-6h) |
| Trek to
the base of the Fitz Roy (3 hours) and climb to the Laguna Los Tres
at the feet of the emerging glaciers. Above rise the granit towers.
Trek back to Capri. Camp. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 14 LAKE
CAPRI - PIEDRA DEL FRAILE - EL CHALTEN (8h) |
| Easy downhill
and flat trek to Piedra del Fraile. On the way we pass by Piedras
Blancas glacier. Our vehicle picks us up at the crossroad of Rio Electrico
and the road. Transfer to El Chalten (30-45 min). Overnight in the

1:
It is possible to adapt the program the following way: |
1- To end
the program, on day 15 in Pto Natales* (hotel included). Discount
is US$ 30 per person.
2- To end the program, on day 15 in Rio Gallegos* (hotel NO included).
Discount is US$ 50 per person.
3- If option 2, do an extension from Rio Gallegos to Ushuaia (by plane).

4- To end the trip on day 10 before to cross the border towards Argentina,

QUALIFICATIONS:
The circuit trekking is generally easy but we do cover more than 150
km. and some rugged trails with our guide and return to base camps
or refuges for meals and the night. Members are expected to be in
good physical condition. No special abilities are needed although
group members should realize that tempestuous weather is normal for
this region. |
