Andean Adventures
This stunning trek takes you through the virgin region of the
Patagonian Andes, crossing the different landscapes, divided by the
mountain chain that covers borders the valley of Río Puelo.
The trek consists of flights, boat trips and four trekking days through
areas practically untouched. A special feature of this programme is
the possibility to choose the country in which you will end your tour.
You will enter dense forests, make boat-trips across rivers and lakes,
trek through mountain passes along the Río Puelo, the emerald
coloured river which links Argentina and Chile. Each day, you will
become more enchanted by the landscape, the sensation of remoteness
and the traditions which change in accordance with the rhythm of the
seasons. You can discover the enchanted of the Island of Las Bandurrias
- a dream location. The exuberant vegetation, the warmth of the "colonos"
and the exquisite food give you the opportunity to dedicate yourself
to a magic trek between mountains and the sea.

| DAY 1
PUERTO MONTT - THE ISLAND OF LAS BANDURRIAS |
Meet in
Puerto Montt. Accompanied by our guide, the trip starts with a 40
minutes flight from the local airport of Puerto Montt heading towards
the mountain chain and leading us to the population of Segundo Corral,
close to the border with Argentina.
After the arrival at Segundo Corral, a local guide - "Baquiano"
- will accompany us on the first part of our adventurous journey until
we'll reach the Island of Las Bandurrias on Las Rocas Lake. There
you'll be served a special tea and a welcome dinner; the time has
come to relax and enjoy life... |

THE ISLAND OF LAS BANDURRIAS... |
| After a
breakfast with authentic local delicacies, you'll decide how you'd
like to spend your day selecting excursions around Lake Azul, Campo
La Colina, Rio Puelo hanging-bridge. Return to the Bandurrias Island.

| DAY 3
THE ISLAND OF LAS BANDURRIAS - LLANADA GRANDE... |
| After an
early breakfast, we'll leave the island for a 4 hours walk. At mid
day break time to enjoying our lunch box. After that our trek continue
along lakes, crossing the Andean valleys, wild forests until we'll
reach the mountain population of Llanada Grande, a small settlement
with a landing strip. Its main attractions are an impressive waterfall
and the kindness of the inhabitants who will render you their hospitality
and will serve you their tasteful traditional Creolean food. Arrival
at Campo Eggers. Dinner and accommodation. |
| DAY 4
LLANADA GRANDE - PUERTO MONTT |
After an
unforgettable farewell breakfast, we'll start descending the mountain
chain for 2 hours until reaching the water abounded Río Puelo.
A boat with a powerful motor will take us further downwards, crossing
Río Manso and Lake Tagua-Tagua. Lunch at a splendid fishing
lodge. After lunch the boat will cross us the lake were our minibus
would be waiting for us. A transfer until Puerto Montt goes trough
the town of Puelo. Here you will enjoy the beautiful sight of the
river's mouth flowing into the sea at the Reloncaví Estuary.
On our way back to Puerto Montt, we will be able to contemplate the
colors of the sensational virgin nature of the National Park of Vicente
Pérez Rosales, skirting Lake Llanquihue and the volcanoes of
Osorno and Calbuco, all around the beautiful Puerto Varas city. The
transfer finishes at Puerto Montt's airport. |

Optional:
Chilean Horse, Creolean tackles. US$35 per day.
The horseback riding horses are of the Chilean Creolean breed and
are very gentle and tame. They have a firm step, are in good health
and well trained for the Andean terrain. The saddle is a typical saddle
of the region it is completed with sheepskin. |
The Cabaña,
a cozy cottage, is made of native wood and consists of 2 floors. It
is heated by firewood, which is used to warm the water of your bathtub.
From the bathroom, you have a splendid view of the forest right in
front of you. The large window of the comfortable living room overlooks
the small beach next to the quay and offers you furthermore a beautiful
view of Lake Las Rocas and the adjacent mountains. The cabaña
offers accommodation for up to 6 persons. The Main House features
an original decoration of French open countryside. It is a very cosy
and warm place.
The house is surrounded by a garden covered by a variety of flowers,
a stream and its own vegetable garden. It provides accommodation for
3 persons and is equipped with a radio, which is connected to a direct
telephone line. |
The cooking
on the Island features a special blend of flavors and ingredients;
it consists of an ethnic variety and mixture of the rich gastronomic
Creolean-Chilean style. Depending on the season, it is possible to
taste the delicious Trout Arcoiris ó Fontinalis or "Al
Palo" or "Al Asador" is served during the "Excursion
Creolean Day". It consists of a tasty barbecue of lamb, salad
and wine. The drinking water is crystal clear, safe to drink and tastes
delicious. The island also has a personal collection of good variety
of wines, champagnes, whiskies, white drinks and tabs.
The vegetables and fruits are superb and the variety of the region's
berries is impressive. |
| Boats:

All boats
have life jackets on board.
On Lake Las Rocas, we'll use an aluminum boat with outboard motor.
It can take 8 passengers, navigator and luggage. Two pair of boats
are used for short crossings; one is made of fiber glass and the other
is made of wood. The boats used for crossing the borders are either
a semi-rigid rubber boat with a Turbo motor, which can take 5 passengers,
navigator and luggage. There is a modern aluminum boat also with a
Turbo motor jet, which can take 9 passengers, navigator and luggage.
